Persons wishing to engage in fishing activities must obtain a fishing licence which is valid for one year.

Process

Step 1:    Obtain a Coastal Craft Licence from the VI Shipping Registry.
Step 2:    Visit the Conservation and Fisheries Department in the Quastisky Building, Road Town, located next to the roundabout, and apply for the type of licence you require (Pleasure, Commercial or Sport).
Step 3:    Submit your Coastal Craft Licence, Proof of Citizenship and Completed Log Book.
Step 4:    Pay prescribed fee that is relevant to your vessel length and type of fishing activity.
Step 5:    Collect your Certificate of Registration (Fishing Licence).

  •     Each year you are required to renew your licence at the time of expiration.
  •     All vessels are subjected to inspection of fishing gear and equipment.
  •     Commercial Licenses require Forms 1, 2 and 4.
  •     Persons applying for fishing licences must apply no earlier than two weeks in advanced.
