Experienced legal professional Mrs. Vareen Vanterpool-Nibbs has been appointed Registrar of the High Court effective February 15.

Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) Chief Justice Honourable Dame Janice M. Pereira, DBE LLD said the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed the courts of justice to adjust to be able to continue to provide for the needs of the region.


Role Summary

The successful applicant will ensure that the Supreme Court’s administration operates in an efficient and effective manner through supervision, management, direction of financial control and maintenance of proper filing.

Main Responsibilities

1.Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department and the supervision of assigned staff.

2.Perform the duties of Registrar as stated in the New Civil Procedure Rules 2000 to ensure compliance with law and regulations.

1. Ensure the smooth functioning of the Court.
2. Enforce court rules, prepare the court and check courtroom for security and cleanliness, administering oaths and marking exhibits in order to maintain order and the effective running of the Court.
3. Serve, endorse and distribute civil and court documents to requisite parties in order to maintain effective management of the department.
