The Department of Information and Public Relations (more commonly referred to as GIS) began the initiative in February, with a view to providing the public with a more convenient option to receive updates on Government’s activities.
Premier and Minister for Information, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE said, “My Government is working towards ensuring a prosperous Virgin Islands, with an engaged people, well-prepared to fully participate in the development of this Territory. To engage, you must be informed; which is why GIS is working closely with the Government, to provide information to the public.”
Premier Smith also urged the public to become more familiar with the Government’s website – bvi.gov.vg and also encouraged persons to join the GIS subscribers list, where updates on all Government’s projects can be sent directly to your emails.
Persons can join the GIS email subscribers list by visiting bvi.gov.vg, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and clicking on the “Click here to subscribe” button. From there, persons are asked to type in their name and email address, and are automatically added to the subscribers list.
