Deputy Governor, Mr. David D. Archer, Jr has said that facilitating improved access to a wide range of public services is a priority for his office while announcing that the Sister Islands Programme Unit has extended its ongoing survey until the end of March.

Extending the survey will  allow more residents on Anegada, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda to share their feedback regarding services available to the public on these islands.

 Deputy Governor Archer, Jr said,  “I have been very pleased with the progress being made in rebuilding the public structures on the Sister Islands. We want to have a better understanding of the needs of the residents on the Sister Islands and the services they desire.  The survey is designed to provide us with the baseline information required for us to better plan for new and improved offerings.”

Mr. Archer added, “It is my vision that once all of the pieces of legislation to support e-governance and digital transformation are approved by the House of Assembly and assented to, the Public Service will introduce the first one-stop payment portal on the island of Virgin Gorda.  Feedback on the survey will help to greater impact the vision and plan.”

Sister Islands Programme Coordinator, Ms. Sasha Flax said she hopes the additional time would ensure maximum participation.

“Some persons have already shared valuable information that would assist in prioritising the services most needed by residents on the Sister Islands, either via the survey or by reaching out to their District Officers.” Ms. Flax said, adding, “We want to ensure every single resident on these islands has a chance to share their needs and ideas.”

The goal of the Sister Islands Programme is to promote and facilitate the execution of projects designed to bring about sustained improvement in the quantity, quality and delivery of Government services.
