Ladies and gentlemen, this journey began less than one year ago, on May 8, 2014 when we broke ground for the expansion of this cruise pier project. At that time, I promised you a new day for our tourism product.

The Town and Country Planning Department is inviting the public to a community meeting to discuss matters regarding the development of the Josiah’s Bay area. The purpose of the meeting is to advise that a plan is underway, encourage citizen participation and solicit issues that should be addressed early in the planning.

The Town and Country Planning Department is inviting the public to a community meeting on a planning application submitted for the development of a school – Ciboney Centre for Excellence at Handsome Bay on Virgin Gorda, as part of the expansion of the St. Mary’s School.

The Social Development Department is urging the community to break the silence and help end child abuse in the Virgin Islands as the Territory observes the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.

The Government of the Virgin Islands through the Office of the Deputy Governor is inviting the public to the Territory's first observance for the Fly the Flag for the Commonwealth Initiative.

Minister for Communication and Works Honourable Mark Vanterpool is informing the Virgin Gorda community that he will hold office hours on Virgin Gorda on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Vanterpool Administration Building from 9:45 a.m. to noon.

The Anegada Public Meeting on the proposed Protected Areas will be held at the Agricultural grounds on Wednesday, February 4, at 1:00 p.m.

The meeting will be held immediately after the ceremony and festivities of Farmers’ Week taking place on Anegada, that same day.

Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn is informing the community of Anegada that he will hold office hours on the sister island on Friday, February 6 at the Claudia Creque Educational Centre from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Mark Vanterpool led a team of Government officials, on a tour of the cruise pier development site on Tuesday, January 20. The members of the team were Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering, Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Ronnie Skelton, District 6 Representative Honourable Alvera Maduro-Caines, District 8 Representative Honourable Marlon Penn and House of Assembly Member Honourable Archibald Christian.
