Good day and God's Blessings to everyone. I am happy to see us moving forward with this project to construct a new fit-for-purpose building which will house the Department for Disaster Management (DDM) and the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), two crucial components of our disaster management apparatus.
United Kingdom (UK) ships RFA Argus and HMS Medway will be conducting a hurricane response exercise on Norman Island on Sunday 16 and Monday 17, August.

The Territory established its first Satellite Emergency Operations Centre(EOC) at the East End/Long Look(EE/LL) Fire Station following a partnership between the Department of Disaster Management(DDM) and the Caribbean Development Bank(CDB).
The Department of Information and Public Relations and individual team members who form the Joint Information Cell (JIC) are being recognised for their exemplary and stellar performance as the COVID-19 Heroes recognitions continue this week.
Many of us would have seen the reports of the recent earthquake in Puerto Rico. Our thoughts are with those affected by any damage. With seismic activity continuing in the region and the Atlantic Hurricane Season just around the corner, it is timely that many are wondering what they might do differently when it comes to emergencies in the context of the Coronavirus COVID-19.

A meeting was convened earlier today with the Premier, Deputy Premier, Minister of Health and Social Development and representatives of key response agencies across the public service to discuss the current global outbreak of COVID-19. I
