The Virgin Islands Alzheimer’s Association and the Nevis Progressive Society will host an awareness walk this Saturday, March 4.

The Territory’s residents are encouraged to show love to individuals affected with mental illnesses, addictions and intellectual disabilities this Valentine’s Day.

The Safe Haven Transitional Centre is seeking the community’s continued support to assist with its clientele recovery and chronic homelessness.

The staff and residents of the Safe Haven Transitional Centre observed World Mental Health Day by hosting recovery activities. 

The public, men in particular, are invited to support the upcoming Men’s Health Week activities from June 12 to 18. 

In observance of Mother’s Day on May 8, Mr. Sherman Smith, a client of the Safe Haven Transitional Centre hosted a luncheon in appreciation for all the women who have played a significant role in his life. 

The Sandy Lane Centre was officially renamed Safe Haven Transitional Centre as it seeks to provide better social support and stable housing to persons experiencing chronic homelessness.

Patrons, Autism Centre staff and Sol Petroleum staff are pictured in high spirits despite the rainy weather to walk in observation of World Autism Day that took place on April 2.

The first Light it up Blue March and Fun Day was held on April 1 to commence activities in observance of Child Abuse Prevention and Autism Awareness Month. 

Persons in the community are being urged to see persons with autism and other disabilities as being different and not any less than human beings.
