The Office of Gender Affairs and His Majesty’s Prison have held discussions on gender-related initiatives and training for staff and inmates at the institution.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is requesting bids for the proposed Kitchen Renovation at His Majesty’s Prison in Balsam Ghut, Tortola. The proposed works comprise providing all plant, labour, equipment, materials, personnel staff and all operations in connection with the proposed renovations.

UK Minister Mike Freer MP, from the Ministry of Justice, visited the BVI between Sunday 5 to Tuesday 7 November. The purpose of the visit was for the Minister to see first-hand the opportunities and challenges in the BVI justice system, and to identify areas for further partnership with the UK
