The Government of the Virgin Islands has announced that the official launch of the historic Traffic Turnaround in Road Town will take place on June 15 after the final simulation over the weekend.

Riders of motorbikes and scooters are prohibited from using the Territory’s roads between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for a period of three weeks.
Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Honourable Kye Rymer witnessed today the contract signing by contractors for works to begin on the additional third lane project in the Traffic Enhancement and Improvement Programme within the city of Road Town.

Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Honourable Kye Rymer, was pleased with the response from the public in the historic traffic simulation exercise that took place in the Territory’s capital of Road Town on Friday, May 1.

Road Town, being the centre of commercial activity on Tortola, has developed significantly over the past decades. Like many developed and developing jurisdictions, the increase in commercial activity has generated an equally significant rise in the level of vehicular traffic accessing businesses.
