The Virgin Islands Emancipation Exhibition will be showcased at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza on Thursday, August 1.

Director of Culture, Dr. Katherine Smith said the exhibition will offer visitors an engaging experience that delves into the profound meaning of the VI freedom today, and the historical experiences from which its ancestors were emancipated.

Local author and educator Mrs. Medita Malone Wheatley will be launching an edited book titled, “A Snapshot of the Virgin Islands Secondary School Under Principal Carlisle Scott”, British Virgin Islands” on Monday, May 6.

The Territory will be observing the 24^th Commemorative Celebration for the late H. Lavity Stoutt from 27^th February to 7^th March under the theme “A Flashback on H. Lavity Stoutt’s Impact.”

The Virgin Islands is set to host the fourth Wagner Sailing Rally between January 25 and January 28.

The fruits of the 1949 Great March were monumental achievements by our fore parents. They have indelibly changed the political, social and economic landscape of our country, and the prospects of all the generations of Virgin Islanders since.

Premier Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley is imploring residents of the Virgin Islands to contemplate and honour the efforts of those who have contributed to a more prosperous and functional contemporary society.
