Tenders Invited For Construction Of The Huntum’s Ghut Economic Commercial Buildings

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the construction of the Huntum’s Ghut Economic Commercial Buildings.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said the proposed works include designing, fabricating, supplying transport, erecting, and assembling two-storey structural steel frame buildings as detailed in the architectural drawings.

These include all windows, doors, stairs, and electrical works; designing and engineering the foundation footings and slabs for two-storey structural steel frame buildings in keeping with the soil capacity, site conditions, and specifications of the building; providing all plant, labour, equipment, materials, and tools essential to complete the project; and supervising the construction site to ensure that the building erection and all related construction are being carried out according to the drawing supplied as per the construction schedule.

Mrs. Rhymer said, “Eligible tenderers are required to submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security payments and taxes including Payroll and Property Tax from BVI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, Inland Revenue, the Commercial Registry, valid Trade Licence, detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed along with other documents as outlined in the tender document.”

Tenderers must also present a Tender Bond/Tender Security not less than 1% of the bid price, by way of a bank or accredited insurance company.

Bidding documents are available from Monday, May 17, 2021 and will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Construction of the Huntum’s Ghut Economic Commercial Buildings”.

Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original, three (3) copies and one (1) flash drive containing the bidder’s documents. The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “COPIES”. Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope and marked “Construction of the Huntum’s Ghut Economic Commercial Buildings” and addressed to:

A virtual pre-tender meeting via WebEx is scheduled for Thursday, May 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. due to Covid-19 preventative measures and social distancing guidelines established by the Ministry of Health and Social Development, All prospective tenderers will be notified of the access code and password prior to the meeting. This will be followed by a site visit.  All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Bldg. #2, 2nd Floor at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Tenderers are invited to witness this process via WebEx and will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.

Background:
The Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) in the British Virgin Islands was established to implement the Government’s recovery plan following the devastating effects of Hurricane Irma in 2017.

The RDA now invites tenders from eligible and qualified Tenderers for the Repair Works to the Perimeter Fencing of the Anegada Recreation Ground site located at Anegada in the British Virgin Islands.

The Procurement method will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) process.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for construction of a public restroom facility at Brewers Bay beach.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said the proposed works include furnishing all plant, labour, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with the construction of public restrooms facility at Brewers Bay, in accordance with the aforementioned drawings and specifications.
