Tender Invited For Scrap Metal Processing And Exportation

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the processing and exportation of scrap metal from the temporary derelict vehicle site in Pockwood Pond.

The successful tenderer would be required to provide personnel, machinery equipment and barge to process derelict vehicles and other scrap metals. All refuse that originates from the process of the scrap metals must be properly collected and disposed of at the incinerator in an environmentally safe manner.

The successful contractor is also responsible for providing statistics of the amount of scrap metal processed and exported out of the Territory.

All bidders are to provide valid Trade Licence and detailed experience in the type of work to be carried out, along with current Certificates of Good Standing in respect of Social Security, National Health Insurance, Commercial Registry and Income Tax.

Tenders must be submitted by August 15, 2022, in a sealed envelope marked “Processing and Exportation of Scrap Metal from the Temporary Derelict Vehicle Site in Pockwood Pond” and addressed to:

Government Seeks Tenders For Social Home In Sea Cow’s Bay #1

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the Construction of a New Social Home in Sea Cow’s Bay #1, Tortola.

The proposed scope of works comprises furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and materials, and performing all operations in connection with the construction of the Social Home in Sea Cow’s Bay in accordance with the drawings and specifications.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said eligible tenderers are required to provide a detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed, the rates of progress and the estimated periods of time for their execution and completion, along with a list of similar projects completed within the last five (5) years.

Mrs. Rhymer added that tenderers must also have a valid Trade Licence in the specific type of work and submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security and taxes, including Payroll and Income Tax, from VI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance and Inland Revenue.

Bid documents will be available on weekdays from Tuesday, 5th July, 2022 between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bidding documents will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Construction of the New Social Home, Sea Cow’s Bay #1, Tortola”.

A virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 20th July, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Prospective tenderers will be provided with the access code and password prior to the meeting. This will be followed by a site visit. All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original, three (3) copies and one (1) flash drive containing the bidder’s documents.  The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “COPIES”.  Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope and marked “Tender for the Construction of the New Social Home, Sea Cow’s Bay #1, Tortola and addressed to:

The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders from contractors licenced and domiciled in the Virgin Islands for the construction of inspection chamber, wet wells and procurement and installation of pumps and mechanical components for the Long Swamp Pump Station, East End/Long Look Sewerage Project, Long Swamp, Tortola.

The proposed scope of works is comprised of providing all plant, labor, equipment, materials, and performing all operations in connection with the supply and  installation of concrete wet well segments, excavation works for the wet well and inspection chamber, construction of concrete reinforced inspection chamber; procurement, installation and commissioning of triplex pump system with electrical panels, procurement and installation of piping system, and other construction.
