Waste Management Invites Tenders for Fencing and Oil Containment Structure
The Department of Waste Management is seeking quotations for fencing and constructing an oil containment structure at the Old Derelict Vehicle Storage site in Sea Cows Bay, Tortola. The project includes installing 220 feet of 6-foot-high chain link fencing with galvanized metal posts, and a 16-foot-wide double gate. Bidders must independently assess the site and submit two sealed copies of their proposal, including a quotation, certificates of good standing, a valid 2025 trade license, equipment proof, and a summary of company experience. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for July 8 at 11:00 a.m., and submissions are due by 4:00 p.m. on July 17, 2025. Evaluation will be based on methodology (20 marks), timeframe (20 marks), and price (60 marks). Upper Johnson Ghut/Long Trench Road Works to Begin June 25
Construction of retaining walls and road pavement will begin on June 25 in the upper Johnson Ghut/Long Trench area, lasting about four months. The works on a secondary road may cause disruptions, so motorists are advised to drive carefully and follow traffic signs and personnel instructions. Local access will be maintained where needed. The Ministry of Communications and Works apologizes for any inconvenience and will provide updates as the project progresses.
