On 19 November 2025, Mr. Richard Ullger formally assumed the position of Interim Acting Commissioner of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, following a swearing-in ceremony held at Government House.

St. George’s Secondary School and the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS) won the first round of the Ministry of Education’s annual Inter-Secondary School debates. They will compete in the Semi-Final Round on 26th February 2025. St. George’s will face VISTS, and Bregado Flax Educational Centre will compete against Elmore Stoutt High School. Chief Education Officer Mrs. Orlandette Crabbe highlighted the debates as a platform for developing essential skills, while Deputy Chief Educational Officer Mrs. Heida Selwood praised the students' impressive performances. The debates will be streamed on Facebook Live.
Hon. Julian Fraser, Deputy Premier and Minister for Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change of the Virgin Islands, delivered remarks as the outgoing Chair of the OECS Council of Ministers: Environmental Sustainability at its 12th meeting in Antigua & Barbuda. He thanked the Government of Antigua & Barbuda and welcomed Hon. Sir Molwyn Joseph as the new Chair. Reflecting on the past term, he highlighted the region’s vulnerability to climate change, notably the impact of Hurricane Beryl, and emphasized the need for urgent and focused action. He expressed gratitude for regional cooperation and pledged support for the Council’s continued work under the 2025 theme: “Staying the Course in Perilous Times: Sustainable Transformation and Resilient Prosperity.”

She highlighted the government's commitment to teaching Spanish and French at the primary and secondary levels, stressing the role of bilingualism in enhancing the economy, especially in sectors like tourism and financial services. Bilingualism is seen as a critical tool for fostering global engagement and boosting the economy by attracting diverse visitors and investors. Minister de Castro encouraged the community to attend the Foreign Languages Immersive Extravaganza on 8th and 9th May 2025, celebrating language learning and cultural diversity.
Men’s Health Week in the Virgin Islands concluded with a hike and beach day at Pineapple Farms, Brewers Bay, hosted with BVI Eco Adventures. The week featured activities promoting men’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being under the theme “Strong Minds, Strong Bodies – Navigating Men’s Health from Crisis to Recovery.” Highlights included a Men’s Street Workout, a panel discussion with local health experts, a clothing drive for the Family Support Network, and food donations to support men in need. The initiative aimed to encourage men to prioritize their health, share personal stories, and foster community support, with the Ministry of Health and Social Development reaffirming its commitment to enhancing well-being across the Territory.
