H.M. Customs hereby advises all Customs Brokers, Importers, and Customs Agents of the mandatory requirement to declare the weight of goods in Field 17 of the Customs Trade Declaration Form.

This measure forms part of the Government’s enhanced data collection efforts to strengthen:

• Trade monitoring
• Policy development
• Compliance oversight

Accurate weight data is critical for:

• Ensuring fair valuation of goods
• Improving statistical reporting
• Informing decisions related to tariff structures and national trade policy

Effective 1 December 2025, this requirement will be strictly enforced. Declarations submitted without the specified weight information will be deemed incomplete and will not be processed.

All stakeholders are encouraged to ensure full compliance ahead of the implementation date to avoid delays in processing and clearance.
