The staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Development proudly wore purple in observance of International Women’s Day, standing in solidarity to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of women across the Virgin Islands.

This year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” reminds us of the importance of ensuring that every woman and girl has the opportunity to live with dignity, equality and respect. By wearing purple, staff joined the global movement calling for continued advocacy, meaningful action and progress toward gender equality.

Today, we recognise and honour the many women within our Ministry and throughout the Territory who work tirelessly to uplift families, strengthen communities and contribute to the health and social well-being of the Virgin Islands.

Together, we continue to stand for rights, justice and action for all women and girls.
