The Department of Culture is pleased to confirm the recent establishment of three Ad-Hoc Cultural Groups each on the Sister Islands of Anegada, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. These groups will work closely with the department in the short run to achieve the following goals:
- To help promote and preserve Virgin Islands culture and history.
- Assist with coordinating interviews with select seniors and/or other individuals
- To assist with identifying and/or highlighting cultural sites and buildings in their community.
The members of the group for the respective islands are as follows:
Anegada: Mr. Rondel Smith Sr, Mrs. Erma Vanterpool, Mrs. Cherry Ann George Smith and Mr. M. McKenzie Vanterpool.
Virgin Gorda: Mrs. Faye Reese Charles, Mr. Trevor Bridgewater Jr, Dr. Steve Lennard.
Jost Van Dyke: Ms. Jessica Graham, Mr. Selvin Chinnery and Ms. Myrtle Turnbull.
The groups will be active for a three-month period of time.
