Belonger Status recognises a person as belonging to the Virgin Islands and grants rights under the law. Applications are submitted to the Immigration Board for consideration and a final decision by Cabinet, based on eligibility requirements and national interest.

Apply for Residence Status in the Virgin Islands

Residence Status allows a person to be recognised as a lawful resident of the Virgin Islands under the Immigration and Passport Act. Applicants must meet residence, character, and integration requirements and submit an application for review by the Immigration Board and a final decision by Cabinet.

Apply for a Conditional Permit

An individual holding an Entry Permit who desires to remain within the Territory while applying for a change in Entry Permit classification must obtain a Conditional Permit to lawfully reside during the transition period. All applications are to be submitted electronically via the Government of the Virgin Islands’ Immigration eForms platform.
