Our Commitment to Serve
The Food and Nutrition Coordinating Committee (FNCC) is a statutory body in the British Virgin Islands established to promote and improve food security, nutrition, and overall public health within the territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy and Strategy Development: The FNCC advises the Government on policies and strategies to improve food and nutrition standards across the territory, addressing public health concerns related to diet and nutrition.
- Nutrition Education: The Committee works to increase public awareness about healthy eating habits and the importance of nutrition in overall well-being through community programs and educational campaigns.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: The FNCC collaborates with government ministries, non-governmental organizations, health professionals, and other local and international partners to develop and implement initiatives that support food security and nutritional health.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: The Committee monitors food and nutrition trends and evaluates the effectiveness of policies and programs aimed at improving public health outcomes related to diet and nutrition.
