Improving employee health, wellness and productivity is at the centre of a new office renovation contract signed between the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) and Vanterpool Construction to facilitate the relocation of the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change. The contract valued at $401,533.15 was awarded on Tuesday, 10 February, 2026, following a National (Domestic) Competitive Bidding process conducted in accordance with the RDA’s Procurement Policy and Procedures.

The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission (BVITBFC) launched its summer marketing campaign in Puerto Rico with a BVI Full Moon Party on April 12 at Vivo Beach Club, Carolina. Minister for Communications and Works, Hon. Kye Rymer, announced that the Virgin Islands Cabinet has declared water infrastructure a National Critical Priority due to long-standing shortages affecting multiple communities. He acknowledged the decades-old issue of water loss from aging pipes and leaks and apologized for the hardships faced by residents. The government has committed to six key action areas—funding, coordination, reliability, quality, community engagement, and accountability—through the Water Optimisation Strategic Plan. Volunteer engineers from Operators Without Borders are on the ground assisting with assessments and repairs, while local talent is being empowered to support long-term solutions.

The Virgin Islands has begun installing high-capacity water meters at 11 reservoirs as part of the Water Optimisation Programme, running from May 27 to June 25, 2025. Led by the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency, the project will improve water monitoring, leak detection, and resource management, helping to ensure a more efficient and sustainable water supply. The $281,412.82 contract was awarded to Control Technologies Barbados Limited. This initiative supports national goals for resilient infrastructure and reliable water access.
