The Government of the Virgin Islands has signed a contract with Biosafe Treatment and Septic Solutions for the installation of sewerage gravity main line from Parham Town to Long Swamp on Tuesday 9th December at the Cutlass Tower. The contract in the amount of four million, one hundred and fifty-two thousand, four hundred and fifty-two dollars and fifty cents ($4,152,452.50) was awarded and is expected to be completed in a eight (8) month timeline.

Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, Honourable Sharie de Castro, announced that her ministry is reviewing the Education Act to address violence in schools. She emphasized the importance of strengthening the act to provide necessary support for education in the Territory. The ministry is also using various disciplinary measures to ensure students continue their education while receiving support inside and outside school hours. Chief Education Officer Mrs. Orlandette Crabbe discussed the ministry’s "wrap-around approach," providing resources to students and their families to address behavioral issues. She stressed the commitment to ensuring a safe learning environment for all students. Inspector Rudolph Bobb from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force highlighted the increased police presence in schools and random student searches to prevent misconduct. He encouraged parents and students to seek assistance from the Family and Juvenile Unit to prevent serious legal consequences. Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley, Minister for Health and Social Development, officially launched Vaccination Week in the Americas 2025, emphasizing the theme “Your Decision Makes a Difference: Immunisation for All.” He highlighted the critical role of vaccines in protecting public health, preventing diseases like measles, and safeguarding vulnerable groups such as children, expectant mothers, and the elderly. He addressed the challenges of vaccine hesitancy and misinformation, urging the public to trust in vaccines and encouraging pregnant women and healthcare workers to stay up-to-date on recommended vaccinations. The government is committed to maintaining high vaccination coverage and supporting health systems in disease detection and response. The week-long campaign, coordinated by the BVI Health Services Authority and PAHO, includes community outreach and educational activities to promote immunisation.
