The Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking consultancy services for the role of Change Manager to lead the establishment and development of comprehensive meteorological services in the British Virgin Islands.
Premier Dr. Natalio Wheatley has been elected President of the UK Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA) and President of the Political Council. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing challenges like climate change and economic resilience. Ms. Tracy Bradshaw, the UK Representative and Director of the BVI London Office, has been appointed Chair of UKOTA. The leadership change highlights a renewed commitment to collaborative governance and advocating for the interests of all UK Overseas Territories. UKOTA serves as a forum to promote dialogue and ensure equitable representation for all territories, especially smaller ones.
The Ministry of Health and Social Development, successfully hosted the Fifty-Fourth Joint Meeting of the Executive and Education Committees and the Twenty-Third Meeting of the Practice Committee of the Regional Nursing Body (RNB) under the theme: “Bridging Divides, Driving Reform: Caribbean Nursing and Midwifery at the Forefront of Change.”
Governor Daniel Pruce is inviting public feedback on the Commission of Inquiry (COI) reforms, which will be reported to UK Overseas Territories Minister Stephen Doughty MP to guide future decisions. A public survey and dedicated mailbox have been set up for this purpose, with a deadline of March 2nd. Governor Pruce encouraged the public to share their views and experiences. The survey is brief, and general comments can be emailed to bvicoi@fcdo.gov.uk. All feedback will be treated anonymously and sensitively.

The Government of the Virgin Islands has taken a significant step toward expanding tertiary education infrastructure with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Deed of Contribution to facilitate the design of student dormitories at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC).
Eleven inmates at His Majesty’s Prison completed a six-week Reintegration Program focused on essential life skills like financial management, family, spiritual health, and mental awareness. Launched in 2024 by the Correctional Fellowship Ministry, the program is supported by community partnerships. Deputy Superintendent Raymond Grant praised these collaborations and highlighted new facility resources, including a teacher and counselor. The Ministry of Health and Social Development continues to support rehabilitation and positive change for inmates.
