The Government of the Virgin Islands, through the Attorney General’s Chambers, is inviting qualified legal practitioners and consultants to submit Expressions of Interest for inclusion on a Panel of Legal Practitioners & Consultants. The Panel will provide a range of legal services including drafting, civil litigation, advisory, and specialist consultancy across various practice areas such as constitutional law, commercial law, legislative drafting, and more. Eligible applicants must be admitted or eligible to practice law in the Virgin Islands and demonstrate expertise in relevant fields. Selected panel members will be engaged on a case-by-case basis under framework agreements, with assignments based on need and performance. Submissions are due by July 14, 2025, and must include detailed documentation to support qualifications and experience.

The Environmental Health Division will host its first in-person food handler’s session on Jost Van Dyke on Tuesday, February 18, at 9:00 a.m. at the Methodist Church Annex. Attendees must bring materials for note-taking, and renewing food handlers need their food handler’s card and ID. New food handlers must provide a passport-sized photo, social security card, and ID.

Civil works have begun on the main road near the Fortune Ghut outlet, by the Carrot Bay Post Office. The two-month project includes demolishing the damaged section, installing rock armour, and reconstructing the roadway. Motorists and residents are advised to follow road signs and traffic personnel directions due to heavy equipment in use. Any inconvenience is regretted.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking applicants for the positions of Chairperson and Independent Member of the Internal Audit Advisory Committee. These roles ensure effective internal audits within public authorities, in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act. The Committee is responsible for establishing audit standards, advising the Internal Audit Department, and reviewing audit reports. The Chairperson should have experience in accounting or auditing, while the Independent Member must bring external expertise. Both roles are appointed by Cabinet for a term of up to three years, with eligibility for reappointment. Applicants must demonstrate significant professional experience and integrity.

Director of Customer Service, Ms. Kedimone Rubaine, announced that 2024 Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) ratings for the Public Service increased to 93.8%, a 31.3% rise from 2023. The improvement reflects the dedication of public officers and is measured through Express Pods at Government offices. The ongoing training and development efforts, including sessions and internships, contribute to this progress. Customer service remains a priority in the Public Service Transformation Programme, and the public is encouraged to provide feedback through rateus.gov.vg.

The King's Birthday Parade and Celebration in honour of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Friday, June 13 at 9:00 a.m., starting at Sir Olva Georges Plaza and ending at Queen Elizabeth II Park. Governor Daniel Pruce will inspect the parade and present honours. Thirty-four officers from various agencies will be recognized for long service and good conduct, including members of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Services, Immigration, and Customs. The public is invited to attend, and honourees are encouraged to wear their medals.
