Ms. Tracy Bradshaw, the UK Representative and Director of the BVI London Office, has been appointed Chair of UKOTA. The leadership change highlights a renewed commitment to collaborative governance and advocating for the interests of all UK Overseas Territories. UKOTA serves as a forum to promote dialogue and ensure equitable representation for all territories, especially smaller ones.

Minister for Communications and Works, Hon. Kye Rymer, announced that the BVI Airports Authority has collaborated with Air Safety Support International (ASSI) to implement a risk-based mitigation plan after the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport was found partially non-compliant with ICAO standards in 2021. ASSI has approved the plan, and phased upgrades are now underway. The Minister also confirmed that the Outline Business Case for the airport runway expansion has been received and is being reviewed for Cabinet approval. The project is aligned with the Virgin Islands' national development and tourism goals.
