My dear Virgin Islands people. A pleasant Good Morning. Today is a proud moment for the people of East End and Long Look communities, and indeed for the entire Virgin Islands. This morning, we gather to commission the East End/Long Look Sewage Pump Station - another major milestone in the East End-Long Look Sewerage Project, a project that has been overdue for far too many years, but which has seen tremendous progress under our hard-working Minister of Communications and Works, Honourable Kye Rymer and his team.

Mr. Jerome Padmore has been appointed Chief Marine Accident and Safety Officer within the Premier’s Office, responsible for Maritime and Shipping Administration. With over 17 years of law enforcement experience and expertise in marine safety and accident investigation, Mr. Padmore will oversee marine accident investigations, safety procedures, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve maritime safety. His appointment will help address long-standing maritime compliance issues. He holds certifications in Marine Safety Accident Investigation and is pursuing post-graduate certification in Accident Investigation. The government remains committed to improving maritime safety in the Virgin Islands.
