Two new books by local farmers Jeffrey and Arona Forbes—Johnny the Great Rooster and Arona’s First Garden Colouring Book—will launch on May 8 at Transformation Church International. The books aim to educate children on sustainable farming, the role of chickens in agriculture, and the basics of gardening, while also preserving Virgin Islands cultural heritage. Deputy Director of Culture Anne Lennard praised the authors for their dedication to education and environmental stewardship, noting their contributions as both practical and culturally significant. The event will include readings, signings, and a chance to meet the authors.

Eleven inmates at His Majesty’s Prison completed a six-week Reintegration Program focused on essential life skills like financial management, family, spiritual health, and mental awareness. Launched in 2024 by the Correctional Fellowship Ministry, the program is supported by community partnerships. Programme Director Laurel Freeman emphasized the healing power of speaking out and pledged compassionate, confidential support throughout the healing process.
