To ensure the programme supports those most in need of opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Nationality: Must be a Virgin Islander or Belonger.
  • Employment Status: You must be currently unemployed or under-employed (part-time).
    • Note: Full-time employees and Public Officers are not eligible to participate.
  • Age: Open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 65.
  • Ready to Work: You should be physically able to perform the tasks in your selected area of interest.

The RATED Programme isn't "one size fits all." When you register, you can select the path that best fits your current career goals:

  1. Temporary Employment: Short-term placements to provide immediate income and community support.
  2. Apprenticeship: Hands-on learning under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  3. Training & Education: Focused development to help you gain new certifications or academic growth.

We offer placements across a wide range of sectors. You may select up to three (3) areas of interest, including:

  • Technical & Trades: Construction, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Marine/Yachting.
  • Environment & Infrastructure: Landscaping, Ghut Cleaning, Waste Management, and Agriculture.
  • Professional & Office: Administrative/Clerical Work, Data Entry, Communications, and Financial Services.
  • Service & Hospitality: Culinary, Tourism, and Health Sector opportunities.

Are you an unemployed or under-employed Virgin Islander/Belonger between the age of 18 to 65 and want to obtain opportunities through short term employment, apprenticeship and/or training, education and development? 

To process your application, please ensure you have the following documents ready to upload or attach:

  • Proof of Status (Required): A valid Belonger Card or British Overseas Territory Citizen (Virgin Islands) Passport.
  • Identification: Social Security Card and National Health Insurance (NHI) Card.
  • Professional Info: If you are interested in office-based roles, please include your Resume and any Diplomas/Degrees attained.
     

Submission Note: Completed forms can be dropped off at the Ministry of Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation (2nd Floor Romasco Place, Road Town) or at any District Office on the Sister Islands.
