The Department of Disaster Management wishes to remind the public that as part of exercise ShakeOut on October 15, the National Early Warning Multi-hazard Alert System will be activated. Test messages will be heard via the early warning sirens, the DDM app, emergency broadcast and other alert systems on exercise day.

All are encouraged to participate in the exercise by responding as they would to an earthquake with the DROP, COVER and HOLD safety response, followed by other safety measures relevant to their situation, however, the public is not required to take any action as part of the test.
