The Government of the Virgin Islands will host an official celebration of life in honour of the late Dr. Robert Mathavious, OBE, under the theme “Revered at Home • Respected Abroad • Remembered Forever.”

The celebration will begin on Wednesday, 15th October, 2025, at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex with a viewing at 3:00 p.m. followed by tributes at 4:30 p.m. Members of the public are invited to join in paying tribute to a visionary leader who was revered at home, respected abroad, and remembered forever. The service will be broadcast live on ZBVI Radio 780 AM, CBN Radio 90.9 and on the Government’s Facebook page @BVIGovernment.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, 16th October, 2025, at the Road Town Methodist Church, with viewing at 9:00 a.m. and the service commencing at 10:30 a.m. 

As a mark of respect, flags will be flown at half-mast on both 15th and 16th October, 2025.
