The Ministry of Health and Social Development has appointed four experienced healthcare professionals to serve as Members of the Nurses and Midwives Council for the period 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2028.

The appointees are Mrs Rosa Ravariere-Seaman, Mrs Beth Hanley-Scatliffe, Ms Hardia S. Lawrence, and Ms Libby A. M. Hagley

These four women bring decades of dedicated service and leadership in the Virgin Islands healthcare system, offering deep insight and extensive professional experience in nursing, midwifery and health administration. Their collective expertise will further strengthen the Council’s work in maintaining high standards of practice and safeguarding the quality of care provided across the Territory.

Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley, welcomed the appointments, stating, “Nurses and midwives are the backbone of our healthcare system, and strong professional governance is essential to ensuring the highest standards of care for our people. These four accomplished women bring invaluable experience and commitment to the Council. I am confident that their service will significantly support the continued strengthening of the nursing and midwifery professions in the Virgin Islands.”

The Nurses and Midwives Council is responsible for regulating the practice of nursing and midwifery, establishing standards of education and professional conduct, and ensuring the protection of the public through effective oversight of the professions.
