The House of Assembly (HoA) of the Virgin Islands has been prorogued with effective from Wednesday 31st, December, 2025, in accordance with Section 84(1) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007 (U.K.S.I. 2007 No. 1678).

The prorogation was enacted by the Governor on the advice of the Premier, in accordance with the established constitutional process. Under the Constitution Order, the House of Assembly is prorogued at least once in every calendar year, except in any year during which the House is dissolved.

This routine procedural step suspends the House's sitting until it is summoned again for the next session.  Members of the public are advised that all legislative business is paused during this period, and updates on the resumption of sittings will be provided in due course.
