The Ministry of Health and Social Development is extending its appreciation to Unite BVI Foundation and the businesses, organisations, health professionals, instructors and volunteers supporting BVI Wellness Fest 2026, scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at Queen Elizabeth II Park.

The event, held under the theme “Wellness YOUR Way!”, will bring together health and wellness partners to promote healthier lifestyles through interactive activities, health education, demonstrations and family-friendly experiences.

Public Health Officer, Ms. Renee Leonard, said the event is designed to make wellness practical, enjoyable and accessible while encouraging residents to take greater responsibility for their health.

“Wellness does not have to be complicated or expensive. It begins with the small choices we make every day, whether that means moving a little more, eating healthier, managing stress or taking advantage of preventive health services. We want residents to recognise that even small changes can have a lasting impact on their health and quality of life,” Ms. Leonard said.

The Wellness Fest will feature four activity zones focusing on nutrition, preventive health, physical activity and family wellness. These activities are intended to encourage healthier habits and reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and certain cancers.

The Ministry extends special appreciation to the following partners whose contributions will help bring the event to life.

Nutrition Zone: La Dolce Vita, Ethaen’s Farm, Black Starr Juices, Everything Organics, Salud my Friend, Plant Wise, Mossed Up, Good Moon Farm, Mil Round Farm, Suzie’s Tea House, Mellow Moods Cafe and Island Delights. These partners will showcase nutritious food options, fresh ingredients and practical approaches to healthier eating.

Health and Wellness Zone: The Wellness Center, Sapphire Health, BVI Orthodontics, Department of Agriculture, Therapy Works, National Health Insurance (NHI), Green VI, Driftwood, BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA), BVI Diabetes Association, Community Mental Health, Alzheimer’s Association, Satya BVI, Red Sun Aromatherapy and Department of Disaster Management (DDM). Their participation will promote preventive care, health awareness and access to available services.

Family and Kids Zone: W.O.W Inflatables, Gamin’ Land, Crafty Hands, Tia Modeste, who will provide face painting, and 12 Elmore Stoutt High School student volunteers. Their contributions will create opportunities for children and families to enjoy activities that encourage connection, creativity and well-being.

Physical Activity Zone: Carol, who will lead the 6:30 a.m. yoga session; GoGettas Nutrition and Fitness, who will facilitate aerobics; and Despina, who will lead stretching activities. These sessions will encourage residents to incorporate regular movement into their daily routines.

Ms. Leonard further emphasised that community partnerships are essential to promoting healthier lifestyles and making wellness opportunities available to more residents.

“The support of our partners demonstrates what can be achieved when businesses, organisations and individuals come together with a shared commitment to community health. We are grateful for their willingness to contribute their time, expertise and resources to help residents make informed choices and take meaningful steps towards healthier living,” she stated.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development remains committed to protecting and promoting the health and social well-being of the people of the Virgin Islands through effective policies, sustainable programmes, and strategic partnerships that support a safe, healthy, and resilient society.
