Ethlyn Rhymer Book Launch
Press Release

Organisation:

Release Date: 15 December, 2025

In collaboration with the Department of Culture, Pastor Ethlyn Rhymer of Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, will release her second book on 29 December, 2025, 4pm at The Afflair Store (across from the Sunday Morning Well in Road Town).

Pastor Rhymer is wife to Danley J. Rhymer, a mother of three, and grandmother of one. Her life is fueled by faith, purpose, and a passion for inspiring those around her.
She is the author of ‘Life in Paradise: A Baby Boomer's Reflection of Life in the Bay’, published in 2019. This book is a powerful and candid look at life, growth and perseverance.

Driven by an unshakeable faith in God, Pastor Rhymer has learnt to face challenges with courage. “Sharing my personal health journey was once unthinkable, but when God called me beyond my comfort zone, I stepped forward in obedience and strength” she declared.

She added: “In this new book, entitled: ‘Even There’, my mission is to energise and encourage anyone navigating life's battles, reminding them that no matter how fierce the storm, victory is possible when God is the captain of the ship.”

Deputy Director of Culture, Ms. Anne Lennard, confirmed that supporting authors and their stories offer numerous benefits. “Book launches, readings and signings are community events that bring people together – especially families. It is well known that many persons in our communities continue to face what may seem like unprecedented challenges. This new book may be one of the tools to help persons navigate through some of these troubling times. The book, Even There, is yet another Virgin Islands’ story to be added to one’s personal library.”

The Department of Culture continues to support Virgin Islands authors through their long-standing Book Launch Programme. Individuals and families are encouraged to write their stories which is a form of cultural preservation.
