MSIRA Reminder to Report All Accidents

All vessel operators, charter companies, visiting charters, and bareboaters are reminded of their legal obligation to report all marine accidents and incidents occurring in Virgin Islands waters.

This is a requirement under the Merchant Shipping (Accident Reporting and Investigation) Regulations 2020.

Reports can be made by calling +1-284-468-2152 or +1-284-468-2087, emailing MSIRA@gov.vg, or, for very serious incidents, calling +1-284-468-9305.

Failure to report is an offence under Section 27 of the regulations, and offenders may be fined up to $10,000.
