Organisation:
In honour of the 75th anniversary of the Restoration of The Virgin Islands Legislature, the public is invited to help share in the re-telling of the Territory’s rich legislative history. The planning committee is seeking submissions of photographs (with captions) and videos that capture memorable moments, significant events, notable personalities, and important milestones. These contributions will be featured in a commemorative book and displayed during the 75th anniversary celebrations.
Images from all eras reflecting key events, important sittings, landmark decisions, and the evolving landscape of our Legislature are welcomed. Persons must clearly identify the who, what, when, and where, to ensure the historical context is clearly conveyed. Short videos showcasing legislative activities, speeches, interviews, celebrations, or any aspect that have shaped the Territory’s legislative history are also encouraged.
To submit, attach your photographs or videos along with detailed captions and e-mail to HoA@gov.vg. The public is asked to ensure that all submissions are respectful and appropriate for public display during the 75th anniversary events. Names and contact details must be included so that persons can be properly credited for their contributions.
This is a unique opportunity to help document and celebrate the resilience, evolution, and milestones of the Legislature, which would help to preserve this rich legacy for future generations.
All submissions must be received by Friday, 15th August 2025. For further information, please contact the Public Relations Unit at the Office of the House of Assembly at 284-468-6900 or email HoA@gov.vg.
