Job Description
To monitor construction sites for workmanship, safety, and quality standards, and report findings to senior managers.
Responsibilities
1. Perform administrative tasks, including data collection, organization, and reporting for informed decision-making.
2. Assist with the supervision of the work of the assigned staff which may include providing hands-on support.
3. Collaborate with the Public Estate Manager to ensure productivity of projects activities to include designs, retrofitting, repairs outfitting and preventative maintenance activities.
4. Assist with the monitoring of project progress to ensure that issues and challenges related to the project are identified, sorted and presented to the relevant agencies i.e., Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency, Procurement Unit or selected Contractors.
5. Organize and/or participate in meetings, presentations, and events.
6. Draft and document correspondences related to project matters to ensure the communication is properly documented for referencing and ease of retrieval.
7. Maintain communication and relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
8. Perform any other related duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Unit.
Qualifications / Experience / Eligibility
- Associate degree in Engineering or Project Management
- One (1) to three (3) years’ working experience
- Attention to detail for assessing workmanship and quality
- Strong observational and analytical skills
- Effective communication for reporting to senior managers
- Sound time management to oversee multiple tasks and deadlines
- Sound problem-solving to identify and address issues promptly
- Proficiency in relevant software for documentation, including Microsoft Office and CAD applications
- Manages self to set an example to staff
- Gains trust and support of the team
- Maintains work activities to meet requirements, including quality
- Gathers required information
- Informs and advises others
