Job Description
To assist, co-ordinate and perform audit and administration functions according to defined procedures effectively and
efficiently in order for the Department to meet its objectives.
Responsibilities
- Plan, co-ordinate, assign and review work for audits to ensure the efficient operations of the Unit.
- Assess internal controls and make recommendations in accordance with defined procedures.
- Review, assess and examine various data obtained from interviews, audit visits and observations to ensure accuracy.
- Certify audit and project reports in accordance with defined procedures.
- Appraise pertinent legislation, regulations or other policy structures in accordance with defined procedures.
- Advise on financial, operational and personnel matters directly related to audit / project activities.
- Prepare audit updates for Audit Committee to support decision-making.
- Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions as instructed to ensure your awareness of any change in policies or procedures which may be relevant to the role.
- Complete a minimum of 60 Essential Learning Hours annually to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Perform any other related duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department.
Qualifications / Experience / Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Specialty Certification from Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) (Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Five (5) years’ working experience in a related area
- Sound knowledge of Government structure, policies and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and policies
- Excellent knowledge of accountancy principles and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of relevant auditing software and programmes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of the use of standard office equipment and computer applications
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent supervisory and management skills
