- Monitoring Prison Conditions:
The Committee visits correctional facilities to assess physical conditions, security, sanitation, healthcare, and the treatment of prisoners, ensuring that conditions meet legal and human rights standards. - Ensuring Welfare of Prisoners:
The Committee is responsible for ensuring that prisoners are provided with adequate care, including access to medical treatment, mental health services, proper nutrition, and opportunities for recreation and education. - Advocating for Reform and Improvements:
If the Committee identifies areas of concern, it can make recommendations for improvements. These recommendations may cover aspects like infrastructure, prison management, rehabilitation programs, and inmate rights. - Investigating Complaints:
