The Scientific Committee of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) serves as a vital advisory body dedicated to promoting scientific research, environmental conservation, and sustainable development within the territory. Comprising a multidisciplinary team of experts in fields such as marine biology, ecology, environmental science, and natural resource management, the Committee plays a key role in providing evidence-based guidance to support policy decisions that affect the BVI's unique ecosystems and natural resources.
Our mission:
is to foster collaboration between governmental bodies, academic institutions, and local communities to ensure that the environmental and scientific challenges faced by the BVI are met with innovative, sustainable solutions. By conducting and supporting research, monitoring environmental health, and assessing the impacts of development, the Committee strives to maintain the delicate balance between progress and preservation in the BVI
