Anyone who lives in the Virgin Islands and wishes to apply for legal status—either Residence (permission to live permanently in the Territory) or Belonger (recognised status that grants full rights in the Territory)—must submit an application to the Immigration Board.
The Immigration Board of the BVI oversees matters related to the entry, stay, and employment of non-citizens in the territory. It plays a crucial role in immigration policies, managing visa applications, residency permits, and work permits. The Board works closely with other governmental bodies to ensure the security and economic stability of the BVI by regulating the movement of people across its borders.
