Literary and cultural enthusiasts in the Virgin Islands are in for a treat when the world’s largest floating bookfair docks in Road Town, Tortola from 24th-29th October, 2025 with over 5,000 titles on display for sale.

Residents of the Sixth District are notified that bin numbers 80 and 81 near Crystal Night Club are being relocated to new sites within the district. The public is asked to refrain from dumping in the former bin area and to report any illegal dumping to the Department of Waste Management by calling 468-4934. Together, we can keep the BVI clean and green.

The public is notified that a portion of Station Avenue in the vicinity of the Road Town Police Station to the entrance of Palm Road (John’s Hole) will be closed on Thursday 25th September from 8:30a.m. to 12 noon, and on Friday 26th September from 8a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Premier Dr. Hon. Natalio D. Wheatley announced the publication of the UN Special Committee on Decolonization’s report following its visit to the British Virgin Islands in August 2024. The report assesses the Territory's decolonization progress and recommends implementing an education program on independence, establishing an independence timetable, engaging in talks with the UK, and considering a referendum on independence. The report will be debated in the House of Assembly and the government will host a public forum for views. The report is available on the Government’s website.

The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands held a meeting on 12th February 2025, chaired by His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Daniel Pruce, at the Premier's Conference Room. All Cabinet Members were in attendance.
