Rymer has announced a record summer cruise outlook for 2026 as confirmed bookings show fifty-two (52) cruise calls between June and October, bringing an estimated one hundred and sixty-five thousand, seven hundred (165,700) passengers to the Territory.

BVI And U.S.V.I Strengthen Maritime Collaboration Through Continued Dialogue On Charter Vessel Fees
On April 15, 2025, the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) held a successful diplomatic meeting in St. Thomas to strengthen maritime collaboration. Leaders from both territories agreed on a revised charter vessel fee structure and committed to forming a joint marine task force to improve regional policy, port efficiency, and coastal protection. The BVI is advancing legislation to modernize its maritime sector through amendments to the Commercial Recreational Vessel Licensing Act. The updated charter fees reflect regional cooperation and industry feedback, supporting a sustainable and prosperous charter tourism industry.

House Of Assembly of The Virgin Islands Participates in Fourth COTSC in the UK
The 4th Commons and Overseas Territories Speakers’ Conference (COTSC) was held in London from May 13–16, 2025, hosted by UK House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle. Delegates included Speakers and Clerks from several UK Overseas Territories, including The Virgin Islands, represented by Speaker Hon. Corine N. George-Massicote and Deputy Clerk Mr. Linton V. Leonard. Hon. George-Massicote delivered a keynote on “Keeping Democracy Running,” emphasizing the importance of robust security measures to safeguard parliamentary operations from physical and cyber threats. Her presentation outlined ten key protective security strategies and was endorsed by UK House of Commons security experts. The conference also featured a royal audience with His Majesty King Charles III, Patron of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. The event reinforced the House of Assembly’s commitment to democratic governance, security, and international parliamentary collaboration.
