On Thursday, 20 November 2025, local retired educator, Dr. Christine D. Hodge of Ballast Bay, Tortola, celebrated with family, friends and well-wishers at the launch of her book entitled: “Real Family Jokes”. In this book, the author expresses these memories in the form of humour, culture and history.
The Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) won the 2025 Inter-Secondary School Debates, defeating the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS). ESHS team members Auri-Ana ElShabbaz, Tyasia Cameron, and Syeisha Keith triumphed in the final debate on S.T.E.A.M. education, with Keith winning the overall best speaker award. VISTS received several awards, including second-best speaker by Kellycian Paul. An impromptu speech competition was also held, with Laicha Nguyen of St. George’s Secondary School taking first place.
