The British Virgin Islands International Tax Authority (BVIITA) advises users of the BVIFARS portal about current issues with credit card payments for bulk transactions. Users experiencing difficulties should email payments@bviita.vg with the subject “BVIFARs Payment difficulties” and detail the problem. Only users with “FI permissions” can make payments on the portal. Entities enrolled in BVIFARS must pay the annual fee unless deactivation was requested by April 8, 2025, or approved otherwise. As The Virgin Islands marks Earth Day 2026, Green VI and the Governor’s Office extend a Territory-wide invitation for all residents to take collective action against plastic pollution. Under the local theme ‘Planet vs. Plastics’, this year’s Earth Week (20 – 25 April) highlights the growing impact of plastic pollution—not only on the environment, but on human health, livelihoods, and the future of the Territory. The plastic we discard every day does not simply disappear. Instead, it breaks down into microplastics that are now found in what we eat, drink, fish in and breathe. Studies show that the average person consumes approximately 5 grams of plastic each week, the equivalent of a credit card, and a single plastic bottle can take up to 450 years to decompose.

St. George’s Secondary School and the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS) won the first round of the Ministry of Education’s annual Inter-Secondary School debates. They will compete in the Semi-Final Round on 26th February 2025. St. George’s will face VISTS, and Bregado Flax Educational Centre will compete against Elmore Stoutt High School. Chief Education Officer Mrs. Orlandette Crabbe highlighted the debates as a platform for developing essential skills, while Deputy Chief Educational Officer Mrs. Heida Selwood praised the students' impressive performances. The debates will be streamed on Facebook Live.
