The Lieutenant Governor made a stopover as he attended a conference in the neighbouring United States Virgin Islands.

Mr. Henry Prince has been appointed District Officer for Virgin Gorda, effective February 3, 2025. In this role, he will coordinate government activities, manage official inquiries, and oversee the Government Administration Building. With over 20 years of experience, including roles at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and Bitter End Yacht Club, Mr. Prince holds degrees in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Strategic Leadership, and University Teaching and Leadership. He expressed his commitment to maintaining excellence in public service and looks forward to working with the community. Mr. Prince will collaborate with other District Officers from the Sister Islands Programme.

The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change is seeking qualified applicants to fill a vacancy on the Land Surveyors Board. This statutory body regulates land surveyors in the Virgin Islands and is responsible for licensing, registration, and oversight. Applicants must be permanent residents—preferably Belongers—and licensed, practicing surveyors with at least four years of experience. Key skills include proficiency in surveying technologies, analytical thinking, and a commitment to land management. Mrs. Douglas-Phillip brings extensive experience in the Public Service to this role, having most recently served as Director of Planning within the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports since 2017.

He is accompanied by Acting Chief Immigration Officer Mrs. Nadia Demming Hodge to discuss immigration policies, border security, regional mobility, and immigration frameworks in the Caribbean. The Premier emphasized the importance of effective and fair immigration policies. Deputy Premier Honourable Julian Fraser will assume the Premier's responsibilities during his absence.
