Restorative work at the Long Bay, Beef Island beach picnic area is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 2025 as part of the Operation Restoration Project. The project, funded by Unite BVI and the Government of the Virgin Islands, includes planting 150 native trees, creating parking spaces, and adding walk paths and picnic benches. Invasive neem trees were removed, and educational signage will be installed. Additional seagrape trees will be planted soon, and the public is urged to respect parking restrictions.

The Environmental Health Division has launched a poetry and art competition in preparation for Caribbean Mosquito Awareness Week 2025, which will take place from May 12–16 under the theme "Small Bite, Big Threat – Stop Disease Transmission, Start Source Reduction." The competitions aim to engage children in raising awareness about the Aedes aegypti mosquito and its impact. The poetry contest, for children aged 8 to 11, encourages poems about the mosquito's characteristics, the diseases it spreads, its breeding sites, and prevention methods. The art competition, for children aged 12 to 17, invites original artwork depicting the mosquito's life cycle, from egg to adult. Submissions are due by May 16, either in person or via email. This initiative supports the Ministry of Health's commitment to improving public health in the Virgin Islands.

With $900,000 in additional government support, the College also implemented a new salary structure following an Ernst & Young compensation review, increasing faculty starting salaries by 35%. Additionally, HLSCC is exploring four-year degree-granting status, beginning with a bachelor’s in education.
