The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Virgin Islands announces the appointment of Mr. Kenrico O. Wheatley Jr. as Deputy Supervisor of Elections in accordance with section 3(2) of the Elections Amendment Act, 1994. Mr. Wheatley is an experienced public officer, having served six years across both the Ministry of Health at Social Development and in the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports.


 As Deputy Supervisor of Elections Mr. Wheatley will provide support and assist in the establishment of polices and directives, planning and implementation of programmes and procedures in accordance with the Election Act. He will assist with the management of voter registration and the electoral management system, preparations of post-election reports and annual reports, conducting voter registration and ensure the efficient and effective administration of elections in the Virgin Islands.


Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs.Sharleen DaBreo- Lettsome, MBE said, “We are pleased to welcome Mr. Wheatley to this role. We are in the vital and timely process of transforming Elections Administration in the Virgin Islands and Mr. Wheatley’s appointment, with his qualifications and experience, further strengthens our human capacity and institutional ability to take the Office of the Supervisor of Elections further.”   


Mr. Wheatley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven and a Master of Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
