Statement
Organisation:
Greetings to all Public Transport Operators of the Virgin Islands,
As we welcome another exciting Tourism Season in the Virgin Islands, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to all Public Transport Operators.
You play a vital role in our tourism industry, serving not only as transportation providers but also as ambassadors of our beautiful Virgin Islands. For many visitors, you are among the first faces they encounter, and the experiences you provide help shape the memories they take home.
As the season gets underway, I encourage each of you to exercise patience, drive with caution, obey the rules of the road, and always place the safety and comfort of your passengers first. Remember, no journey is so urgent that you should compromise safety.
I also encourage you to continue demonstrating the warmth, kindness, professionalism, and hospitality our people are known for. Share our stories, showcase our culture, and take pride in the important role you play in promoting our Territory. Let us ensure that every passenger who enters your vehicle comes as a stranger, leaves as family, and leaves eager to return as an overnight guest. That is the true spirit of Virgin Islands hospitality.
I extend special commendation to our ten (10) newly approved Taxi Operators on Tortola and Jost Van Dyke for 2025 and 2026. You are joining a proud cadre of Taxi Operators who serve as the face of our Territory and help carry our hospitality to the world. Congratulations on meeting the standards to serve. We are proud to have you on board.
At the same time, we pause to honour and appreciate those we have lost, the pioneers who paved the way for the industry we have today. Their legacy lives on in the excellent service you provide daily.
May this season bring increased opportunities, prosperity, safe travels, and continued success for each of you.
Together, let us make this season one to remember, not only for the beauty of our islands but for the exceptional service and genuine hospitality of our people.
Drive safely, serve proudly, and continue to represent the Virgin Islands with excellence.
Safety First. Service Always.
