Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund Opens First Call for Proposals and Applications on 3rd September ROAD
Press Release
Release Date: 3 September, 2026

The Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund (VICCTF) is preparing its first-ever Call for Proposals and Applications- CFP-1 and CFA-1, inviting all eligible and interested partners across the Virgin Islands community groups, civil society organisations, private sector, and others registered entities to apply for climate change related “Community Resilience” (CFP1) and “Capacity Building” (CFA1) funding starting September 3, 2026.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund, Chamberlain Emmanuel stated, “The consultations we held across the territory in July made one thing clear, organisations want a fair, transparent shot at this funding, and they want us to meet them where they are.”

He then explained that, once entities register as a partner and their readiness is determined, there are two grant pathways, depending on where an organisation is in its journey. Partners that are ready to put climate adaptation and mitigation projects into action can apply for the Community Resilience Grant (CFP1). Those that need a bit more support first, whether that's building internal capacity or strengthening how they operate, can apply for the Capacity-Building Grant (CPA-1) instead. Some entities can do both.

CEO Emmanuel continued, “That feedback shaped how we built CFP-1 and CFA-1. So whether your organisation is ready to launch a project tomorrow or still finding its footing, there’s a pathway here for you. I’d encourage every eligible group across the territory to take the first step by registering as a Partner.”

Before applying, organisations are encouraged to register as a partner through the Trust's Partnership Alliance Registration (PAR) by visiting www.vicctf.org to be a part of the Trust's network and will help identify which funding option is the best fit based on the organisation's current capacity.

The call will be formally opened at a press conference on September 3, 2026. A virtual workshop will then be hosted on September 7 to aid applicants through how to apply, who's eligible, and key dates and steps to know. For ongoing support, the Trust will hold weekly virtual question-and-answer sessions, along with in-person drop-in sessions on Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada for anyone who prefers to talk things through face to face. A schedule will be provided within the coming days. Persons are also encouraged to follow the Trust’s social media pages for updated information.
