Good afternoon to the people of the Virgin Islands and the Members of the Press Corps.

I am pleased to be joined by Deputy Premier Hon. Lorna Smith OBE to provide an update on our visit to the United Kingdom(UK) last week.

Also present is the Deputy Premier’s Executive Director ofInternational Business, Ms. Ayana Glasgow, who accompanied us to London along my Chief Advisor Mr. Kedrick Malone. Wewere also joined by Acting Director of the BVI London Office,Ms. Tracy Bradshaw.

As we embark on a new and exciting school year, I extend a heartfelt welcome back to our hardworking school leaders, educators, students and parents.

Caribbean Wellness Day is being celebrated on Saturday September 14 under the theme “Power Through Collective Action.” 

His Excellency the Governor Daniel Pruce chaired the meeting held on 5th July, 2024 at the Premier's Conference Room.

Today I will provide an update on the Commission of Inquiry and its implementation. This is in advance of travel to London with Premier to meet Minister Stephen Doughty, the Minister of Overseas Territories, on 11 September. I will group my remarks around three broad areas.

I am pleased to be joined by Governor Pruce to update you the public on the status of the Implementation of the Recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry and Other Reforms.

It gives me great pleasure to join the people of the Virgin Islands in congratulating Dame Janice Mecedis Pereira, DBE on her appointment to His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council as announced on 28th August, 2024. This prestigious accolade is a fitting testament to her distinguished career and unwavering commitment to justice across the region.

on the passing of Mr. Elroy A. Turnbull

On behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands and my family, I join with the entire community in expressing condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Elroy A. Turnbull, who recently passed on 22 August, 2024.

I join with the people of the Virgin Islands in mourning the death of another one of our community stalwarts, Mrs. Rita Frett Georges, MBE.
